Article Marketing – Write Compelling Articles!

Poorly written articles end up buried in the article directory junkyards with little or no visibility. Don’t do it!

If you decide to write an article, pour your heart and soul into it. You need to capture your readers interest, you need to provide your readers with valuable information… in short… your article has to be compelling.

Compelling articles is a terrific way to advance your search engine rankings, backlinks, and traffic. Compelling articles retain visibility, expand your online visibility and considerably elevate your backlink popularity.

There is a huge demand for key-phrase relevant and rich content by other webmasters that creates a tremendous opportunity for you to promote your web site. You need to be aware of this… capitalize on this demand, by writing short articles that relate to your web site content and promoting those articles on article repositories.

As your articles proliferate, article promotion establishes you as a specialist in the field. More importantly, it places your one-way link into the article directory site and every other site that publishes your content. This viral proliferation will strengthen your search engine ranking and also generate organic traffic that is not dependant on the search engines.

No matter what your article is about, as a writer you must captivate the reader. Remember, you are publishing articles to promote your website and get one-way back links. With a poorly written article you can expect backlinks from the article repositories you submit to, but you will miss out on the key benefit to writing articles. The key goal is to get publishers and webmasters to use your content; not just to get your article listed in the repositories. You want your articles to proliferate. Only then, will your embedded links get intense exposure.

Here are a few tips:

# Style:
Your writing style will affect the number of web masters that will use your content. Your writing style should be conversational. Try to talk directly to the reader. Vary your sentence structure. Occasional rhythmic pauses give an opportunity to reflect. Write concisely and use common words. Be creative.

Always proofread. Spelling and grammatical errors turn people off. Even better, have someone else proofread your articles for you. To boost your writing skills, read more. As you read, focus on the writer's style. Learn from good authors.

# Intricate Point Of View - And Define It In Your Title:
Give a lot of thought to your title. Your title should 'grab' your reader's attention. It is the most imperative part of your article. It will make or break your article.

If you want to entice a reader to read the first paragraph, you must pull them in with the title. Most writers don't take the time to write good titles. This is normally due to either a lack of experience or to a lack of expertise.

Treat your title like a headline. Be creative. Use a catchy keyword rich phrase that aligns with the content of your website. Believe it or not, your title will determine how much traffic your article will get back to your website.

# Be Careful About the Topic That You Cover
You need to select a topic you are passionate about. This topic has to relate to your website and should cover the relevant keywords. Your enthusiasm and knowledge of the topic should be evident.

Lead off with this topic. Intrigue the reader. Remember you are fighting to capture your readers attention, and once you've captured it, you need to keep hold of it. Explain how your angle benefits the reader or solves a problem they face. This is your value proposition. Show how your article differs from other articles covering this topic. This entices people to read the second paragraph. Use the remainder of the article to expand your key points.

# Conclusion:
The final paragraph should persuade the reader to take further action -- emphasize what the reader should do after reading your article. In the conclusion you need to summarize your article and build a bridge to the resource box. The resource box is where you can place a link to your web site. You need to entice the reader to follow that link. You can do this by stressing your competence on the subject matter, providing the opportunity for more advice or both. To learn how to do this effectively, review other articles by other authors and adapt a style that appeals to you.

Remember an article written for the web should be informative and hold the reader's attention. To do this it should be relevant to the title, well written and contain at least some essential facts not readily available to the reader. Find an angle on your subject matter and focus on developing it in your article.

Don't write articles just to promote your resource box. Your content will suffer and the article will probably be of little interest to anyone.

Article Marketing - The Process Explained

Article marketing is often considered a cost effective strategy for promoting a business online. Online marketers can write informative articles and submit them to article directories or content syndication services for free. While articles are primarily informative but can also contain promotions and mention the writer’s own products or website, if appropriate to the context of the article. These articles usually also include a brief biographical mention of the author at the end that includes a link to the author’s blog or website.

The use of articles as a marketing tool has expanded greatly over the past decade. It has turned into a multi million dollar industry. Many Web Owners have come to rely on Article Marketing as a cost effective way to market their products and services.

Article marketing is an inexpensive way to promote your products and although it requires some effort to create and promote your article, it is worth every penny.

Articles are viral in nature. This is because in every article your personal details (bio) as well as a link to website products and services are embedded. This means that whenever the search engines 'crawls' a site that uses your article, they will record a back-link to your site, which will enhance the ranking of your site. It also means that anyone reading your article on remote sites may click on the embedded links to visit your site.

So how does the process work? Once an article is written, you submit it to 'Article Directories', which undertakes to publish it on their article directory and to distribute it via RSS to thousands of subscribers to their feeds. These subscribers trust the article directories to scan articles before hosting them to ensure that they meet the minimum standards. This means that your humble article almost immediately finds its way to thousands of websites and blogs... Not bad for an hours effort I would argue...

The subscribers to the article directories may publish your article in their newsletters or on their websites. Your article may even find its way into an eBook. Take pride in you articles and you will find them to be more productive for you and your business.

The important thing is that the article act like a virus, attaching your backlink to every site it can. This can help with search engine optimization.

Article marketing can benefit authors in two ways:
1. Readers may see the author as a credible expert in the field, which can help enhance the author’s reputation and attract more business.
2. Articles contain one or more links back to the author’s website for the products that are being promoted in the article. These links attract human visitors, and also search engine crawlers. Such links are therefore a search engine optimization (SEO) technique.

Finally, there are some risks with article marketing. If there isn't enough information in the articles, readers may perceive them as spam. Also, some article directories are harvested heavily by other marketers who reuse the articles after replacing the links with their own.
